The King of hearts
the King of hearts is a French film of Philippe de Broca, left in 1966.
Synopsis
At the end of 1918, the Germans give up Marville after having trapped it by hiding a bomb there. A British soldier, Charles Plumpick, are charged to locate the explosive device and to defuse it before it explodes. On the spot, he discovers a city obviously deserted by his inhabitants, except for the boarders of the lunatic asylum. Those accommodate it with open arms; they recognize in him them " king of cœur". Established as it should be at the time of an official ceremony, Plumpick is let allure by his/her new companions, who have as names Géranium general, Clover duke or Mr Marcel, but does not forget its mission for all that of it.
Film worship
This anticonformist film, evoking métaphoriquement the festival of insane and the ball of burning of the town of Fiume in 1919, will be a critical and commercial failure at the time of its exit in 1966. Years 1970 will forget this film completely too advances some over its time.
