The Fly (song)

The Fly is the first individual one of the album Achtung Baby , of the group rock'n'roll U2. It left in October 1991.

The Fly was recorded in company of Daniel Lanois with the Studio Hansa in Berlin, cradle of the Low/Heroes/Lodger trilogy of Bowie between 1977 and 1980.

First extract of Achtung Baby, The Fly mark a rupture of the group with U2 of the the Eighties, as well on the level of the words, as of the music and the style. Electric sonorities, wah-wah, and garage of The Edge contrast with the atmosphere Blues of the preceding album of U2, Rattle and Hum. The voice of Bono is deformed there through effects and by the Speak-sung.

This title is interpreted in concert with the reinforcement of subliminal messages on screens behind or around the group, particularly in the round ZOO TV, which was a satire of television.
