The Flemish heraldic Council
The the Flemish heraldic Council or Vlaamse Heraldische Raad belongs to the Division of the Monuments and Sites of the Flemish Gouvernement. Bench on April 11th, 1984, it replaces the heraldic Sub-commission or Subcommissie Heraldiek established on December 21st, 1978. At the beginning, these two public bodies were in charge of the concession of armorial bearings and the flags in favor of the common. Since 1994, the load of the Council includes/understands also the concession of armorial bearings and the flags to the provinces like, since 2000, with the individuals and the organizations.
