The Flame of a candle

Written in 1961, the Flame of a candle is the last work of Gaston Bachelard.

This last work of the philosopher Gaston Bachelard studies “the renewal of the daydream of the dreamer in the contemplation of a solitary flame”. But it is also a test on the capacity of imagination vis-a-vis the thing, on the awakening of the spirit in the daydream, finally on the force of the thought and its divagations.
