The Corrs
The Corrs is a group pop Irish with the strong Celtic influences, whose members are brother and sisters.
Biography
The four members of the group belong to the Corr family, and were born with Dundalk (Ireland, Comté of Louth).
Their first album, Forgiven Not Forgotten , a subtle mixture of Irish tradition and music pop, had its greater success in Australia. The most known songs are Runaway and Forgiven Not Forgotten .
The following album, Talk One Corners , was very popular in Ireland and England. It contains in particular What Can I C and Dreams (begun again group Fleetwood Mac). They reach the top of their art with the album Unplugged in acoustics and assisted by a Symphony orchestra.
In Blue mark a turn in the musical style of the group which becomes more pop in order to allure the US market. They collaborate thus with the producer Mutt Lange who is not other than the husband of the singer Shania Twain. It composes with them the tubes Breathless , Irresistible and All The Love In The World .
Borrowed Heaven mark a certain return to the sources after long a four years pause. The album contains ballades melancholic persons ( Angel , Long Night …) and of the rythmées songs full with love of life, as the tube Summer Sunshine .
Their last album, simply entitled Home , is a homage to the Celtic Folklore which inspired them, and proposes many resumptions of soft and poetic Irish songs traditional, of which two are sung in Gaélique, Buachaill one Eirne and Brid Og Nor Mhaille . It in particular gained an important success in France, while becoming Disque of gold only one month after its exit. Home was sold with more than 340.000 specimens in France. Since 2005, the group agrees a pause.
In January 2006, the number of albums sold by Corrs approaches the 60 million according to the Irish Singles Chart .
