The Community of communes of the Briard Plate

The community of communes of the Plate Briard is a inter-commune structure French, located in the departments of the the Valley-of-Marne and the the Essonne, in the area Île-de-France.

History

Created the December 3rd 2002 per order of the prefect, the community of communes of the Briard Plate gathers 6 communes of the Briard Plate.

The community of communes of the Briard Plate gathers 6 communes, adding up approximately 26.000 inhabitants (including 24.000 in the Valley-of-Marne and 2.000 in the Essonne):

Villecresnes, 562 ha
Mandres-the-Pinks, 330 ha
Périgny-on-Yerres, 279 ha
Varennes-Jarcy, 548 ha
Santeny, 991 ha
Maroilles cheese-in-Brie, 330 ha

The center city is Villecresnes.

Installation of an observatory of the companies established on the Community territory, whose particular missions will be the following ones:

to carry out an exhaustive inventory to create and manage a file of the companies artisanal, agricultural, commercial, industrial and liberal professions,
to identify their requirements in term for labor, public equipment and collectives, residences.

Installation of a Community device in favor of the new economic activities for:

to seek, acquire and develop grounds likely to be arranged in zones of economic activities and to connect salesmen, agents and purchasers,
to create and develop zones of economic activities.
S' acting of the buildings, buildings, grounds and financial liabilities existing in this field in the communes at the time of the creation of the community, those remain competence of those.

protection development of the environment

household waste: to assume the collection, elimination, the treatment and the valorization of waste of the households and the waste assimilated under the conditions envisaged to the L.2224-13 article of the CGCT.

Housing policy and framework of life

establishment of a local plan of the inter-commune habitat allowing the community communes to ensure the coherence of the local plans of the habitat and to coordinate the whole of the actions of the various communes within the framework of the regulations in force.

The Community project

The community fixes itself like objectives to respect the cultural identity of the plate briard, the will of a harmonious economic development preserving the agricultural landscapes, and actrivities (market-gardening, horticultural and cereal) which make the specificity of the territory located at 20 km of Paris
