Terra Botanica

Terra Botanica or Parc of the plant will be a Parc with topics directed towards the universe of the Végétal, the Biodiversité and the use of the plants.

The park will have a surface of more than 17 hectares by counting the carparks, the access roads and the places of maintenance, 60.000 m ² of gardens and landscapes, 25.000 m ² of watery spaces, 15.000 m ² of routes and 10.000 m ² of buildings and greenhouses.

It will be located in the Département of Maine-et-Loire, on old the Aérodrome of Avrillé between the communes of Angers and Avrillé. It will be near the northern skirting of the A11 and on the passage of the tram of the town of Angers returning it to less than one fifteen minutes of the station TGV of Angers-St Laud.

The frequentation of the park east establishes on the basis of annual frequentation of 400.000 visitors. The fallen down economic ones of almost 8 million Euro S are awaited in the Transport S, restoration and Tourisme in the area (the stakes is to make of Terra Botanica a turntable towards the other tourist sites of the Maine-et-Loire).

The park will employ about fifty paid over the year in charge of the daily maintenance of the seedlings of the field and an about sixty at the time of the season of opening is during the periods of flowering (of spring to the autumn with one peak season envisaged from May to September.)

The project Parc of the plant took the name of Terra Botanica at the time of the 21e living room of the plant February 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2006 with the exhibition site of Angers which gathered more than 17.000 French and foreign visitors.
