The political situation

The Fouta, since the 4th century, knows political powers more or less related to the empires made up in Western Sudan. However, as of the 13th century and the 14th century, the dynasties are independent of these empires.

The first dynasty is that of Dia Ogo or the dynasty of Dia, installed in Tekrur at the 9th century. It would have lasted 130 years according to Lord Abbas Soh. Their origin and their installation in the area arise from the legend. They controlled under the suzerainty or dependence of the Empire of Ghana.

The dynasty of Manna succeeded that of Dia Ogo. It would be of origin Soninké and would have lasted three centuries until about 1300. Its origins are at Nioro (Mali).

Tondyon 1300-1400 are the third dynasty of Fouta.

The 15th century, autochtones families followed one another to constitute the fourth dynasty, Lam-Terms and walaldé Lam-Taga, farba and Lam-Toro.

These dynasties that of Dényankobé succeeded which is founded by Koli Tinguella (which by eight times failed in its conquest of the kingdom of farba before arriving there at the ninth and marrying one of the girls of Farba and finally to leave the capacity to diam diam Sargane), about the middle of the 15th century (1559) and will last until in 1776, date on which a theocratic dynasty (Torodo dynasty) founded by Souleymane Baal will replace it.

The king carried the title of Satigui, Saltigué or Silatigui.
