Ted Lindsay

Robert Blake Theodore " Ted" Lindsay (born the July 29th 1925 with Renfrew in the Ontario in Canada) is a former professional player of Hockey of North America. It one of the 10 members of the Temple of is today re-elected hockey to be established before the three years of times habituels.

Biography

Bert Lindsay, the father of Ted, was a manufacturer of skating rinks and a goalkeeper in minor leagues. He encourages his son very early to play hockey. This one plays in league amateur (with Lakers de Kirkland Lake) before joining the St Michael' S Majors de Toronto member of the Association of hockey of Ontario (today Ontario Hockey League ) in 1943-44. He plays two unspecified seasons with Red Wings then he is put on the same line as the center veteran Sid Abel and than a recruit of the LNH, some Gordie Howe. The following season, Prodcution line aspires to the first three places of this classification with spearhead Lindsay. It gains then the Trophée Art Ross and its team gains the Coupe Stanley.

In spite of its small size, it receives the nickname of " Terrible Ted " (Ted the terrible one) for its engagement and its will never not to let the metal disc slip by. Over the five seasons which will follow, Red Wings will gain three news Coupes Stanley (in 1952, 1954 and 1955). In March 1957, it is with the honor on the Sports Illustrated with Howe.
