Technocentre Renault

Inaugurated in 1998, the Technocentre Renault is the center where the future cars from Renault are designed. The site is with Guyancourt in the Yvelines to approximately 30 km in the west of Paris and employs nearly 12.000 people - including the people receiving benefits, subcontractors and subsidiary of Renault. The employees of the Renault company working in Technocentre exert exclusively trades of the Automobile, while very many activities of the center are sub-contracted with external people receiving benefits, in particular the restoration, cleaning, maintenance, the reception, safety, the management of the vehicle fleet, data-processing and electronic engineering, etc

The site was conceived to gather all the actors of the design of a new car model. Renault thus avoids an investment of 200.000 euros due to displacements. The time-saver for the originators is appreciable: it is enough for them to take a corridor to meet their colleagues working on another body of the vehicle, where before it was necessary to take the car or even the train.

Technocentre is equipped not only with 8 restaurants intended for the use of the employees of the center and with its visitors, but still with conference rooms, a bank, a mutual insurance company, a hairdressing salon, a shop selling the derivative products of the Renault mark, of a school of formation to the trades of engineering conveys, etc

The atmosphere of the places is often compared by the visitors with that of a vast shopping mall. The architects of the center optimized the luminosity and the functionality of the buildings. Large green alleys connect the various blocks, of picture windows open on outside. The interior architecture of Technocentre is evolutionary: the offices are open ( open space ) and can be reconfigured according to the organization of the teams.
