Taking of hostages of the head office of OPEC in Vienna

The December 22nd 1975, a group of four people directed by Carlos and including/understanding Gabriele Kröcher-Tiedemann took by storm the seat of OPEC in Vienna at the time of a meeting of the leaders taking sixty-six Otages.

The terrorists accompanied by forty-two hostages transfer themselves to grant an airliner DC-9 and could leave in direction Algiers. An old driver of the Royal Navy, Neville Atkinson, controls personal colonel Khadafi at the time of the facts, was then charged to transport part of the terrorists to Baghdad where they unloaded, and where trentes hostages was released. The plane left then in direction Tripoli, unloading other hostages, then went back to Algiers where the remainder of the hostages were released and where the terrorists obtained asylum.

Carlos quickly left Algeria for the Libya, then Aden where it had to answer at the time of an interview with the leaders of PFLP of the non-fulfilment of two leaders of OPEC: the Minister for Finance of Iran, Jamshid Amouzegar, and the Saoudi minister of oil and the mineral resources Ahmed Zaki Yamani.

It could also be suitable part of the money of the ransom. The leader of the PFLP Wadie Haddad excludes it from the movement.
