Syndic
Syndic is a term which can mean several functions according to the countries.
In Swiss
The syndic (female syndicates ) is the denomination of the Maire in the cantons of Freiburg and Vaud. The cantons of Neuchâtel and of Were worth speak about President of common, whereas those of Geneva and the Jura use the French term of Maire.
In France and Belgium
Joint ownership

The syndic is a natural person or morals and who is an elected legal representative of a Syndicat of joint ownership (called Association of Joint ownership in Belgium).
He is responsible for the management of the common parts of a Copropriété (real etc). Its role is to take care of the good state of the utility services and the maintenance of the building.
This manager holds the general ledger of the building, distributes the loads between the various owners, pays the invoices with the companies providing and perceives the provisions of loads.
Legally, the syndic is charged to make respect the payment of joint ownership. He can engage a legal procedure if a joint owner does not pay any more his loads, for example.
Property owners' syndicate
The syndics are the members of the trade-union committee which manages the property owners' syndicate. They are between 3 and 7 and appoints in their center a president, a secretary and a treasurer.
Kingdom of Sardinia
The syndic is a function similar to that of a French mayor created with the Statute of 1848 promulgated by the king Charles-Albert: after having had consuls at his head, Nice was directed by a syndic of 1848 with 1860. In Italian the corresponding term is sindaco and in Niçois sèndegue .
