SuperFetch

SuperFetch is a algorithm which automatically charges in memory the programs used most usually in order to make it possible to reach it more quickly. SuperFetch can reach the external storage units and to use them as memory hiding place. It belongs to Microsoft Windows Vista, new the Operating system of Microsoft.

This technology is intended to improve the speed of opening and the Response time of the most used programs. It is based on a system of analysis of the process not-system, i.e. the system analyzes which programs are most usually used for each day (Example: If the user is a player who still makes studies, the system will preload Tuesday Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.org, whereas saturdays, it will preload Black & White 2, Sims 2 or any other play which the user usually uses) to preload it with starting in background task. It also makes it possible to use a Clé USB, even several like additional memory RAM.

The users can thus use a simple key USB to exploit Superfetch which appuit on space available on key USB to store its files of preloading. This technology is especially useful for the users of laptops, often limited in extensions memories. The data which will be stored by Superfetch on key USB will be quantified. A key of at least 512Mo is enough to use this functionality, it is necessary to privilege a fast key with a key great capacity.
