Stilbene

The stilbene , or trans-1,2-diphényléthylène , is aromatic Hydrocarbure, of formula C H. Its name comes from the Greek stilbos which means shining . The stilbene exists in two forms Mésomère S (E) and (Z), the latter being the least stable due to steric embarrassments and presenting a melting point between 5°C and 6°C, while the form (E) has a melting point bordering the 125°C.
