Steve Waring
Steve Waring is type-setter-interprets born in 1943 with Abington (Pennsylvania).
Child, it had as musical references the Blues and the traditional musics (Big Bill Broonzy, Dave Van Ronk, Brownie Mc Ghee, Leadbelly…).
Arrived at Paris in 1965, it is one of the pioneers of the acoustic Guitare American in France.
It recorded with Roger Mason the first instrumental disc of the hexagon containing of the pieces carried out with the technique of the picking (Vinyl 30 cm American Guitare , edition " Song of the monde" and republished out of CD (1994) by Harmonia Mundi S.A. under reference LDX 274969).
It began with Alan Stivell and was one of the pillars of the American Center, Raspail boulevard, where the “hootenanies” organized by Lionel Rocheman took place which attended thereafter of other large guitarists of which Marcel Dadi.
In 1975, it records the album " Special Instrumental " (Song of the world, LDX 74564) in which it Marie of at the same time modern and medieval sonorities. Its virtuosity is expressed there in very technical pieces (in Open tuning) but always mélodieux. The disc is accompanied by all the Tablature S. It remains a reference for the guitarists.
It also records, in the same edition, another album " Special Instrumental " specific to the American banjo (song of the world, LDX 74472), album in three shutters on which it describes the origins of the Banjo, styles traditional, Bluegrass and old time, techniques of play Frailing and picking like some fingering charts to illustrate these techniques, for the picking: " John Henry according to Jnuffy Jenkins " and for the frailing: " Oh Suzanna " and " King William' S March ".
In the Années 1980 it launches out in the folk music “naive” known as for children.
Since it became one of impossible to circumvent of the music for children, with 20 albums and more than 2 million sold specimens.
