Stentor

In the Greek Mythology, Stentor (in Greek old Στέντωρ / Stentor ), character of Iliade , was the crier of the army of the Greek at the time of the Trojan War.

Its “voice of bronze” had the power of the howl of fifty brought together men. The goddess Héra took her appearance when she wanted to encourage the Greeks with the combat. He succumbed during a vocal fight with the god Hermes, hero of the Olympe.

Its name remained in the popular expression “to have a stentorian voice”.
