Anecdote

During the Second world war, Hugues PanassiƩ used the discs of jazz like a challenge with the authority Nazi in France. It of course introduced a disc St Louis Blues by Armstrong. His/her friend Mezz Mezzrow tells one of his performances in his autobiography " Really the Blues " ( the rage of living ): It presented a disc the censure Nazi labelled " The Sadness of Saint-Louis" , and Hugues explained to them patiently that it was a French traditional sad song speaking about poor and unhappy Louis XIV. What the cerberus of the culture did not know, it is that under this label the label Victor original hid, with Louis Armstrong as artist and the true name of the piece St Louis Blues .
