The sporting Star of the Sahel is a general sports Club Tunisia N founded in 1925. The club, based with Sousse, is since years the window of the Tunisian sport.
History
The club is founded under the terms of a public meeting at the school free-Arabic of the street Laroussi Zarrouk in Sousse. Chedly Boujemla is elected like first president of the general sports club and the debate is animated to find the name of the club. Several possibilities are offered: “Soussienne” and “the Moslem woman” are quickly pushed back. The sporting Star name “of Sousse” is also isolated because the club should not be satisfied to radiate only on the city but on all the area of the Sahel: The sporting Star of the Sahel finds its name then.The club is officially recognized by the authorities of the protectorate the July 17th 1925.
