Speed skating to the Olympic Games of 1928
Speed skating to the Olympic Games of 1928.
The Norwegians were carried out by Bernt Evensen which gained three medals. The Finn Clas Thunberg also gained two gold medals (500 and 1.500 meters). The test speed in shoes (500 meters) was at the very least unusual: with perfect equality, Bernt Evensen and Clas Thunberg gained both a gold medal, new fact at the time of Winter Olympics and to crown the whole, one allotted three bronze medals, nobody not managing to decide between the three candidates in the third place.
The test speed on 10.000 meters had to be cancelled because of quasi estival temperatures. The American Irving Jaffee was that which had carried out best time at the time of this test before it is stopped.
