Sound horizon

In Cosmology, the sound term of horizon indicates the maximum distance traversed by a Sound wave between the Big Bang and a given time. It is thus the equivalent of the concept of horizon, where one replaces electromagnetic Onde by sound wave. The value of the sound horizon at the time of the recombination (time of the emission of the cosmological diffuse Fund) determines the angular scale under which are seen the Anisotropie S of this basic radiation. Its determination, carried out by the angular scale of the first Peak Doppler of the Spectrum of power of the anisotropies, fact part of the most crucial tests of the standard Model of cosmology.
