Songbird

Songbird is a software Multiplate-form of management of musical library, a audio Lecteur and a Navigateur Web. Songbird is a free alternative to ITunes, the software of Apple.

It is based on the multimedia player VLC, on the interface XULRunner (like Firefox, Thunderbird, Sunbird or Nvu) like on the database SQLite.

Songbird is developed by Pioneers off the Inevitable . The founder of the company, Rob Lord, promises that, in the long term, Songbird will be multi-media Firefox of the readers.

The first public version (code name “Hilda”) left on February 8th, 2006 for Windows, of the versions exist also today for Linux and Mac OS X.

Songbird and Internet
