Snaking

The snaking (or creeping in English) indicates a slow movement of the surface Particule S of the ground to the bottom of the Versant S.
Several processes can generate a snaking:
- successions of freezing/thaw (Solifluction):
- Pipkrake S (rising and repercussion of stones on the surface of the ground by the ice)
- Cryoreptation (rising and repercussion of the aggregates of the ground by formation and cast iron of ice lenses) which can lead with water saturation to the Gélifluxion);
- variations of volume of the ground had with moisture or the temperature
- impact of the water drops on the ground (Effect splash) and the Streaming diffuse
- the biological activity (burrows, Windfallen wood, trampling)
- the human activity (Ploughing S)
In Nivologie, the snaking also indicates the slow slip of a plate of snow or displacement by haulage of snow.
