Sling
One calls sling all that is additional which is found between the load with raising, drawing or to fasten, and the equipment which does the work (crane). A sling consists of textile rope (Nylon or Polyester) or naturalness (hemp), of cable of Acier, chain or textile Lanière (nylon or polyester).
They can be simple or with several legs, of the Aussière S (œils) of various sizes are spliced mechanically (hydraulic) or manually (for example with a Serre-câble) with each end and/or any other equipment or accessories being able, either to be fixed with another accessory (manille for example), or crimped with a hydraulic Presse.
The sling is an essential accessory of work as well on the Bateau X (ropes, stowing), Hélicoptère S as on the building sites (gréage) and even in transport, as it is a question of fastening a load on a truck (stowing).
To bear the name of sling, it is necessary that each end are spliced and/or connected to an equipment or unspecified accessory (Palan, crane jib, etc).
The matter, the diameter, the angle of raising (if several legs) and the thickness and the width of the thin strap used are directly in relation to the load capacity of the sling. The larger the diameter is, the more the capacity is large.
