SGX is the abbreviation of Singapore Exchange , establishment resulting from fusion at the end of 1999 from:
- the purse of Singapore, Stock Exchange off Singapore ;
- and of the Futures market Simex, International Singapore Monetary Exchange .
Strategic alliances
The Bourse of Tokyo is in the search of partners in Asia, and is about to be combined with Singapore Exchange on the offer of stock exchange products. Tokyo Stock Exchange would be ready to take an important share in Singapore ExchangThe Stock Exchange London or London Stock Exchange pushed back the attempt at takeover of Nasdaq in 2006, preferring to establish a partnership with Asia, where the growth is more considerable. Is currently under discussion to collaborate with Singapore Exchange - named like a major strategic partner in Asia - and envisages to invest massively in the share capital of SGX before the end 2007. Rumors would even affirm that is in preparation of launching a hostile tender offer on SGX.
