Silvio Blatter

Silvio Blatter , born the January 25th 1946 with Bremgarten (Argovie), is a writer Suisse.

Life

Silvio Blatter grew in a proletarian family. He attended the school of level “Bezirksschule” and of 1962 to 1966 the professional training center for the professors with Wettingen. Then, he worked as professor of elementary school with Aarau during six years. In 1970, it was in a house of industry metals. In 1972, it began its studies of the " literature Al; and " langue" at the university of Zurich, which it finished in six six-month periods. In 1974, he worked in industry still, but this time as worker near a machine in the industry of the plastics.

In 1975, it finishes a formation for radiophonic parts near the station national radio (Schweizer Radio DRS, belonging groups it SRG Swiss SR idea). After stays with Amsterdam and Husum, it remained with Zurich as free writer. Today, Blatter lives with Oberglatt in the Canton of Zurich.

During the Nineties, Blatter preferred to paint, but since 2000, to paint and write have the mêne value for him.

He is a member of the Center PEN of the German-speaking Switzerland (of 1984 to 1986 president) and club " Autorinnen und Autoren der Schweiz ".

Work

In its first books, it describes the daily life and the monotony of industrial work in an obsessing and realistic way (There are neither literary metaphors nor constructions, which dominate these books). Blatter becomes eminent thanks to its " triology of Freiamt" who contains Zunehmendes Heimweh , Kein schöner Land and Das sanfte Gesetz . These bulky books draw a vast image of the Freiamt area and their inhabitants. “Das sanfte Gesetz” by example, tells the history of the fictitious family Wolf, an big family of contractors. The family, Wolf, live a life which their gives positive experiments - and also negative: An car accident makes necessary the amputation of a leg; somebody is killed by the police force by accident by visiting a bank during a steering; the son loves his mother-in-law etc In the trilogy, there is also a boy who observes robbers concealing of the hand grenades of a military deposit.

The style of Blatter is very realistic, it describes things which exist in its world contemporaire: The child plays on “Game & Watch” with a Nintendo, there are names of the popular culture (Herbert Grönemeyer, Level 42, He-Man of the Masters off the Universe etc).
