Silvan Shalom

Silvan Shalom (born the August 4th 1958 with Gabès in Tunisia) is a Israeli Politician . Member of the Likoud, it becomes in the two successive governments of Ariel Sharon, Minister for Finance of 2001 with 2003 and Foreign Minister of 2003 with 2006.

The December 19th 2005, after the departure of Sharon and other tenors of Likoud for the new party Kadima, Shalom fails the primary education elections of Likoud vis-a-vis Benjamin Netanyahou.

The January 3rd 2006, Benyamin Nétanyahou, new directing Likoud, orders to the ministers of its party to resign of the government of the Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Silvan Shalom and the ministers, Yisrael Katz with Agriculture, Limor Livnat with Education and Dany Naveh with Health were to give their resignations the January 8th at the time of the Council of Ministers but following the brain attack of the Prime Minister, the January 4th, their resignations were deferred the January 11th for Limor Livnat, Yisrael Katz and Dany Naveh while that of Sivan Shalhom was given the 12. They took effect the 15.
