Sir Sidney Frederic Harmer is a British zoologist , born the March 9th 1862 with Norfolk and dead the October 22nd 1950.

He is the son of the geologist Frederic William Harmer (1835-1923) of Mary born Lyon. He receives his Bachelor off Sciences with the University College of London in 1880, his Bachelor off Arts with the King' S College (Cambridge) in 1883, his Master off Arts in 1886 and his Doctorat off Sciences in 1893.

It Marie with Laura R. Howell the September 2nd 1891, union of which will be born four children. He is Master assisting of Natural science with Cambridge in 1886, assisting in King' S College of 1890 with 1908, he is preserving of zoology of 1909 with 1921, then directing of the Natural History Museum of London of 1919 with 1927.

Harmer is member various learned societies of which the British Association for the Advancement off Science, the geological Société of London, the Société linnéenne of London (that it chairs of 1927 1931). It is anobli in 1920. It receives the Médaille linnéenne in 1934. With Sir Arthur Everett Shipley (1861-1927), it takes part in the publication of The Cambridge natural history .
