Shortboard

Since the end of the year 1960 and the appearance of the boards in Polyurethane, the majority of the boards are shortboards, i.e. short boards of reduced size.

The shortboard is easy to operate compared with the other types of boards, but its small size involves a lack of buoyancy, balance is more precarious and its less accessible use. It also requires more important waves, more powerful and a later takeoff.
