Serpa Pinto

Alexandre Alberto da Rocha de Serpa Pinto , born in 1846 and died in 1900, was an explorer and a colonial administrator Portuguese.

It carried out difficult forwardings in Africa central and southern, between Angola and Mozambique, and contributed to to chart the interior of the continent. It reaches the Indian Ocean in 1869, by exploring the river Zambezi. Eight years later, it carries out a forwarding started from Benguela to Angola, until the Bassin of Congo and in the Zambezi.
