Senegalese party of socialist action

The Senegalese Parti socialist action (PSAS) is an old political party Senegal board founded by Lamine Guèye.

History

After its scission with SFIO, the PSAS is constituted in 1957, as a section of the African socialist Mouvement (MSA).

Following a bringing together between Léopold Sédar Senghor and Lamine Guèye, and after fusion between the African Convention and the MSA in 1958, the PSAS joins the popular Bloc Senegalese (bps), section sénégalaise of Convention, to form the Union progressist sénégalaise (UPS).

Symbols

In the beginning, the three colors of the Senegalese flag symbolize the three political clouts which amalgamated to form the Union progressist sénégalaise. If the green is the color of the democratic Bloc Senegalese (BDS) and gold or the yellow that of the Senegalese Popular movement (MPS), it is the red which represents the PSAS.
