Segonzac is a common French, located in the department of the Charente and the area Poitou-Charentes. The commune is the capital of the Grande Champagne, first vintage of the cognac.

  • Saint-Pierre Church: , it belonged to the old diocese of Saintes; it was destroyed mainly in 1562 and preserved old only its chorus, its bell-tower of frontage and its side southern. all the interior was remade of 1865 with 1868. It presents, in the West, a porch under cradle, including/understanding a kind of corridor of entry, accompanied, in North, of a baptistère.
    the chorus, middle of the 16th century is arched warheads; the key carries the weapons of the Valois of Orleans; a bay with four mullions and network blazing in the East, and a simple bay in lancet on the other sides light it. A platform of the 12th century exists above the porch, of the width of the nave; in the beginning this platform extended on the sides which were prolonged on the alignment of the porche.
    On the frontage, established in advanced and of the width of the porch, opens the door with three rollers, formed of rolls and cavets, on columns, with the capitals with foliages and rinceaux, surrounded by a cord charged with festoons. Above, is the square bell-tower, presenting to the West a plank in leaf, a cornice and a blind blind arcade, received by seven columns with capitals. In withdrawal, exist two stages decorated with five columns on the angles and two intermediaries, going up until the top. First is bored, on each face, of two Roman arches. The second stage is open of two bays in tierce point, on columns. A conical arrow finishes the bell-tower.
