  • August 12th:
    • Advertisement of the amnesty of all the Polish private of freedom which are on the territory of the the USSR; it makes it possible more than 345.000 Poles to leave the prisons and camps of work where they are held.
  • August 14th:

    • a military treaty comes to supplement the Accord Sikorski-Maïski and lays down the methods of constitution of the Polish army in the USSR.
    • With the Canada, signature of the Charter of the Atlantic by the the United Kingdom and the the United States.
  • August 18th:

    • the Poles of the autonomous Brigade of the hunters of Carpates enter in action the defense of Tobrouk.
  • August 21st:

    • First attack of scale to Paris against the troops of occupation.
    • Beginning of the second raid of Jews (21,22 and August 23rd): 4232 people are stopped then transferred to Drancy
