Second period of taïfas
The second period of Taïfa S is one period of the history of Al-Andalus located between the domination Almoravides and the Conquête almohade.
In 1080, at the end of the First period of taïfas, under the pressure of the Christian reconquest, the Moslems had called upon Almoravides. But defense vis-a-vis the Christian kingdoms required means to finance the fortifications and the canonical armies and taxes (raised on nonthe Moslems) were not enough there. They had to be solved with raising new taxes near the Muslim population, which of it was quickly dissatisfied. With these taxes were added military inefficiency, the banditism and the corruption of the civils servant, as well as a religious intolérence.
In 1121, the population of Cordoue revolted, and a street battle engaged against the army almoravide. Only the intervention of the Fakih S avoided the blood bath. Other revolts followed to Seville, Grenade and Alméria. From 1125, Almoravides began with predre ground in Morocco vis-a-vis Almohades. One been enough, Ibn Kasi, took the head of an anti-almoravide religious movement and constituted a principality about 1145 in the area of Evora, Beja and Huelva. Of other principalities was created with Valence, Jaen, Badajoz, Seville and Arcos. The Al-Andalus populations, victims of the tyranny of their leaders and the wars between taïfas, started to call upon the Almohade S.
In 1147, an army almohade commenda by Abd Al-Mumin unloads in Spain and conquers most of the south of Spain, in particular the towns of Cadiz, Malaga and Seville. In 1163, his/her son Abu Yaqub Yusuf completes the Al-Andalus conquest by taking Valence and while putting fine at the last taïfa this period.
