Second district of Guyana

The second district of Guyana is one of the 2 French legislative districts which account the department of the Guyana (973) located in area Guyana.

Geographical and demographic description

The second district of Guyana is delimited by the electoral Découpage of the law n°86-1197 of the November 24th 1986 , it gathers the following administrative divisions: Canton of Approuague-Kaw, Canton of Iracoubo, Canton of Kourou, Canton of Mana, Canton of Maripasoula, Canton of Matoury, Canton of Montsinéry-Tonnegrande, Canton of Saint-Georges-in-the Oyapock, Canton of Rémire-Montjoly, Canton of Roura, Canton of Saint-Laurent-of-Maroni the, Canton of Sinnamary.

According to the general Census of the population in 1999, carried out by the National institute of the Statistics and Economic studies (INSEE), the total population of this district is estimated at 101346 habitants^,.
