Scottish Ambulance Service
The Scottish service of ambulance serves all the Scotland and is a special panel of health placed directly by the Scottish executive department of health. It fulfills two principal functions - the supply of a service of accidents and help to answer 999 calls and service of not-Urgency, which carries out the role to take patients with and their go of hospital.
Service with only the " wing of air" public-placed at the RU actuated under contract by Gamma Aviation. The fleet is composed of two helicopters of Eurocopter EC. 135 and two of plane of wing fixed of the Beech King Air 200c, which provide the answer of help and the transfers of the patients to and of the areas far away from Scotland.
In 2005, service:
- Answered 520.463 incidents of accidents and help
- Effectué 2.214.101 voyages of patient of not-urgency
- stole 2938 missions of ambulance of air
- In 2005/06, the response time average to the calls threatening of the life in the whole of Scotland was 8.4 minutes
- the service uses the personnel 3192
