Scopus mount

The Mont Scopus is a mountain of the east of Jerusalem. This mount is known for its advantageous panorama on the city which also constituted an strategic interest in the past.

Contrary to the remainder of the oriental party of Jerusalem, the Scopus Mount is Israeli since the Israeli-Arab Guerre of 1948 and was a Israeli Enclave in a territory controlled by the Jordan until in 1967. The sovereignty of Israel on the Scopus Mount is internationally recognized. It is included within the official limits that the Israelis allot to the city.
