Schwäbisch Gmünd
Schwäbisch Gmünd is a city located in the Federal Republic of Germany in the Land of the Bade-Wurtemberg. This city is located approximately at 50 kilometers in the East of Stuttgart. From 1805 to 1834, this city was known under the name of Gmünd. Nowadays, people always continue to call this city under this name. " Gmünd" is there the second most important city of the Ostalb area.
History
The first traces of agglomeration dates from the 2nd century after Jesus Christ whereas the Roman soldiers to build Limes inside this city. Those remained here until the 3rd century.Twin towns
In Schwäbisch Gmünd, twinnings with towns of Europe and the United States rest on a tradition of more than 30 years. All started in 1971 with twinning with Barnsley in South Yorkshire, in Great Britain. Five years later, it is Antibes, in France, which was twinned with Schwäbisch Gmünd.
