Saturn temple (Rome)

The temple of Saturn one of the many temples of Rome, is built under the Roman Monarchie or at the beginning of the Roman République on the Forum Romanum, with the foot of the Eastern slope of the Capitole and beside the Julia Basilica. It was completed into 497 before Jesus Christ in the Saturn honor which had learned how to the Romans to cultivate the ground.

This temple sheltered the Treasury ( ærarium ) of the State, as well as the laws engraved in bronze, the decrees of the Senate, and other registers important.

The Saturn temple also sheltered in times of peace (Pax Romana) the flames and badges of the various legions of the empire.
