San Andres (island)
San Andres is an island of the Archipel of San Andres there Providencia.
Declared free port in 1953, and with only 1:30 by plane of Bogotá, San Andrés is the largest island of the archipelago with 26 km ² of surface and an average temperature of 27 degrees; San Andres concentrates 90% of the population of the Archipelago of San Andres there Providencia. Architecture is basically modern, although some rustic houses recall days not yet so remote.
The District of San Luis
The District of San Luis east one of most traditional of the island, with its houses out of wooden and the Architecture of the Antilles. In the past, it was the principal port of the island from where one dispatched the Coconut. There are charming beaches in this district, just as some famous hotels and some restaurants which mix in perfectly with local architecture. The beaches of San Luis have different names, according to their site. Sound Bay is longest and its name comes owing to the fact that this place has, the waves come to run up against the reef in Corail. Jenny Bay of pink coral sand; she is very popular in the children of the island. Cocoplum Bay is preferred children and teenagers because of his not very deep water, its white sand and the green and the blue of its water. - Johnny Cay is an small island which can be seen principal beach (municipal). It is the preferred place of the tourists. Paradisiac of the Archipelago: which Palm tree S, of the music, food and a superb water, worthy of Bora-Bora. In the East of San Andrés you can also see Haynes Cay and Acuario. - El hoyo soplador (Blowing Hole): Located on the southernmost point of the island. Blowing Hole presents a natural phenomenon to us, one of the prides of the island, which is produced by a series of underground tunnels dug with same the rock which meet in a few meters of the sea. With the high tide and when the wind pushes the waves in these tunnels, with the sufficient force, the air and water are compressed in the tunnels and arise with a strong pressure a such Geyser; the jet reaches an average height of 15 feet.
