Samsung

Samsung (Hangul: 삼성, Hanja: 三星, McCune-Reischauer: Samsŏng, romanized: Samseong which means “three stars”) is the name of one of the first Korean industry groups.

Presentation

Founded on March 1st, 1938 with Daegu (South Korea) by Lee Byungchul, the group has Filiale S in 58 countries and employs more: 208000 people. Samsung posted in 2006 a sales turnover of 158,9 billion USD.

Samsung is active in research and in the product sales of Télécommunication, of electric household appliances, digital media, screens, monitors and Semi-conducteur S. the company is also present in the sector of BTP with in particular the construction of the skyscraper Burj Dubai.

Samsung is today the 3rd global manufacturer of cellphones behind Nokia and Motorola.

The group is currently directed by Lee Kun-hee.

Founded in 1988, Samsung Electronics France employs 170 people. The sales turnover in 2004 was of: 1070874000 euros.

First global manufacturer of Magnetron S and monitors, Samsung is mainly directed towards consumer electronics. The company holds in France the first place in volume of the market of the microwaves
