In the Finnish Mythology, the sampo is a magic object which ensures fortune its owner.

Presentation

According to this mythology, when it was stolen with its manufacturer, Ilmarinen, the country of this last sank in the difficulties and a forwarding was thus organized to find it. The naval Bataille which followed was lost.

Nobody knows exactly which type of object is the sampo. Also, interpretations are numerous. It for example was described like a compass or a Astrolabe.
