Samuel Houston (March 2nd 1793 - July 26th 1863) was a statesman, politician and American soldier.

Born in Virginia, it is one of the principal figures of the Histoire of Texas. He was successively president of the République of Texas, senator of the the United States after Texas joined the Union and finally governor.
