The Salar d' Arizaro is a salar of Argentine, located in the Western part of the Département of Los the Andes of the province of Salta.

The salar of Arizaro is rich in common salt, but also in Fer, Marbre, Cuivre and onyx.

With more 1  500 km ², it is the widest salar of Puna Argentina. In its southern part, extremely widened, it is dominated by Cerro Archibarca (5  629 meters), which determines the limit with the province of Catamarca. More in north it narrows, presenting a long prolongation towards the North-East.

The salar of Arizaro is crossed in its northern part, narrowest, by the branch of the Railroad General Manual Belgrano, which links the town of Salta to that of Antofagasta to the Chile and which constitutes the Western part of the Train of the clouds, as by the provincial roads 37 which connect San Antonio of los Cobres with Undermined Casualidad.

In the east, the salar is dominated by the Sierra of Calalaste, and with the west and the North-West by an impressive volcanic alignment near to the Chilean border and including/understanding the Llullaillaco (6  739 Mr.), the Socompa (6  031 m), which dominates the collar Paso Socompa, the Aracar (6  095 m), the Arizaro (5  774 m) and volcanic apparatuses of the Lastarria (5  706 m) and of the Cordón del Azufre.
