Saint-Sylvain-in Anjou

Saint-Sylvain-in Anjou is a common French, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the area Pays of the Loire.

Geography

Located at 10 km in the North-East of Angers.

History

The legend would like that Saint-Sylvain of Anjou draws his name from what the borough emerged from the forest (Latin silve) unless it is not the vault, dedicated to " Silvin" saint; , which gave him its title. Having known inter alia large the Plague of 1626, the Famine of 1661 and 1662, the Food shortage in 1693 and 1694, and the Dysentery in 1779, Saint-Sylvain becomes common after the French revolution, a mayor and his city council men directing it. It is into 1919 that the termination " of Anjou" comes to be added.
