Saint-Govern-of-Corner

Saint-Govern-of-Corner is a common French, located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Its inhabitants are called the Cointarands .

Geography

This commune of the the Loire, which belongs to the Regional natural park of Pilat, is located at 21 km of Saint-Etienne. Its borough is located at 1071 m of altitude, it is thus a relief of medium mountains which characterizes the commune.

Climate

Because of its situation on average mountain, the climate of Saint-Govern-of-Corner is hard in winter (cold and snows abundant) but soft in summer.

History

The commune is recent, it goes back only to 1858. Its territory was created starting from pieces taken on the common neighbors of Marlhes and Saint-Saver-in-Street. Its name comes from a locality named " The coin" located, at the time, not far from the current borough. One will add " to it; St-Régis" to be made forgive, like wants it the oral tradition, a bad reception reserved for that which will become Saint Jean François Régis. What makes the only commune in France of it bear the name of this Apôtre of the Velay and of the Vivarais.
