Saint-Cyr-the School is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France.

Geography
The commune of Saint-Cyr-the School, located at approximately four km in the west of Versailles and at 24 km with the west-south-west of Paris is bordering on the communes of Versailles in the east, of Guyancourt in the south, Montigny-le-Bretonneux in the south-south-west, Wood-with Arcy in south-west, of Fontenay-the-Fleury in the west and Bailly in north.Its territory extends into large part in the Plaine of Versailles, and is delimited in north by the Ru of Gally, at an altitude of approximately 115 m, going up gradually towards the south urbanized then by a slope clearly marked with the foot of the railways to a plate culminating to 170 m of altitude environ. It is bordered in the west by the highway A12 and in the east by the railway known as of the Large Belt connecting Versailles to Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer (currently closed with the passenger traffic), and is crossed in its north-western part by the Aqueduc of Avre.
The northern part of the commune, very little urbanized, accommodates cultures as well as the Aérodrome of Saint-Cyr-the School, one of oldest the Aérodrome S civilians of France. In the south-western part is Wood Gauze culminating to 175 m of altitude and crossed stalemate the path of great excursion GR. 11. The southern part of the commune, located on the plate above the railways, names the Gold Ear and is somewhat offset but allows the direct access with the southern suburbs of Paris by the Trunk road 286 characteristics of fast track.
The road service road is assured mainly by the secondary road 10 connecting Versailles to Rambouillet and the secondary road 11 connecting Saint-Cyr-the School to Plaisir. In the vicinity immediate the exchanger between the highway A12 is, North-South axis who connects the Triangle of Rocquencourt to Trappes then with the Trunk road 10, the Trunk road 286 who connects Bois of Arcy to the south of Versailles and prolongs towards the east in highway A86 and of the Trunk road 12 who carries out towards Dreux.
The railway service road is ensured by the station of Saint-Cyr-the School, station of the network Transilien located on the line connecting Paris-Montparnasse to Chartres and being with the point of the junction giving access to the line of Granville via Plaisir - Oil cake and Dreux. Direct services of suburban trains are ensured towards Paris-Montparnasse via Versailles - Building sites, Defense and Paris-Austerlitz via Invalides (the RER C) on the one hand, towards Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines, Rambouillet, Dreux and Mantes-the-Pretty on the other hand.
History

In 1995, Saint-Cyr military school officially received the Military Cross with Palme, which to him had been decreed forty-five years earlier for facts of resistance and its exemplary attitude under the bombardments and which the municipality of then had refused.
Administration
The 16 May 2006, the resignation of the mayor Philippe Lavaud was announced to the municipal council. At the beginning of April, Philippe Lavaud had been heard by the police officers of the financial brigade. The parquet floor of Versailles indeed opened an preliminary investigation for “illegal catch of interests”. The police officers are interested in the relationship between Marignan, the promoter of the building site of the old gendarmerie of Saint-Cyr military school, and Alpha Controls, the consultancy created by Philippe Lavaud in 2002, one year after its election with the town hall of Saint-Cyr-the School.
During the municipal council of the 7 June 2006, Bernard Debain (30ème on the list) was elected mayor.
