Saint-Christophe-and-Niévès

The Federation of Saint-Christophe-and-Niévès or Saint-Kitts-and-Nevis are a State located in the the Antilles, composed of the islands Saint-Christophe ( Saint-Kitts ) and Niévès ( Nevis ).


History

In 1967, Saint-Christophe-and-Niévès became, with Anguilla, a State associated with the British crown with a total internal autonomy, but in 1971 Anguilla rebelled and obtained the right to make secession.

In 1981, Saint-Christophe-and-Niévès adhered to the Organization States of Caribbean Eastern the (OECO).

Saint-Christophe-and-Niévès arrived at the Indépendance on September 19th, 1983.

In August 1998, a Referendum held in Niévès to separate from Saint-Christophe failed of little to reach the necessary majority of the two-thirds.

In 2003, the sprinter Kim Collins clarified her country by gaining the 100 meters at the time of the Championnats of the world of athletics at Saint-Denis in France.
