Saint-Back
Saint-Back is a common French, located in the department of the Yrénées-Atlantiques and the area Aquitaine.
Its name inhabitant of Béarn is Sendòs .
Its inhabitants is called the sendosiens.
Geography
The grounds of the commune are sprinkled by the Gave d' Oloron, affluent of the Gave of Pau.Communes bordering

History
The commune of Saint-Back (Sendos as Inhabitant of Béarn) to the characteristic to be divided between Béarn and Gascogne. Besides under the Old Mode, the parish elected jurats inhabitant of Béarn and " députés" Gascons.- In 1660, the inhabitants rebelled against the gabelle one and several of them were hung on the place of the village.
- marshes of the " barthes of Branlès" were drained in 1863 with assistances of Napoleon III.

- Castle in ruin, with the astonishing civil architecture of XVIe century, which replaced a feudal mound of which " The Basque gentil" , local hero, was lord.
- Gentilhommière of the XVIIIe century.
- the current church, of the XIXe century, replacing an extremely old building carried by a rising of the gave at the end of the XVIIIe century, was financed partly by the baron Frederic Dombidau de Crouseilhes, minister of religion of Napoleon III, and owner of the castle of Saint-Back.
- Vault of Ordios which, although depending today on Labastide-Villefranche, was built in 1150 on order of the priest of Saint-Back of the time.
- old Mill seigneurial, built in 1736, today in the middle of the grounds and whose diversion canal was filled in 1951. The preceding mill seigneurial was destroyed at the time of the great rising of 1732.
