Sahaj Marg

The Sahaj Marg is a system of meditation and a movement religious Hindou ist founded in 1945.

In the report/ratio 2468 of the French National Assembly, of December 1995, it is defined as being a Secte.

History

Sahaj Marg is founded in 1945 with Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh in India), by Shri RAM Chandraji Maharaj, affectionately called Babuji (1899 - 1983). It did it in reference to its Master RAM Chandra of fategarh (1873 - 1931), or Lalaji , then started to turn to the Occident. In 1972, it goes for the first time in Europe, with the the United States of America and in Egypt.

According to its faithful, it would have shown the means for the human being of arriving at the spiritual in only one life, while assuming a normal family life and professional perfection: its “system improved of Rajah-yoga” took the name of Sahaj Marg . The current Master, Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari called Chariji , was not recognized unanimously by certain members of the movement, which caused a scission on its arrival with the presidency, in 1984. The current seat is in Chennai (Madras), where Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari resides.

The French subsidiary company, Shri RAM Chandra Mission France (SRCMF), is an association governed by the law of 1901 declared with Paris in June 1986.

According to the statutes, the incomes of association come from the contributions of the members, public donations, banking interests and various sources. Even if the spiritual services of the Mission are known as free, association manages ashrams, goods real important. For example, the castle of Augerans was acquired in 1988 for nearly two franc million and was resold for 457.000 euros in 2003.

Doctrines

The “natural Way” (“ Sahaj Marg ” in Sanskrit), is the spiritual method of drive of Sahaj marg. It is presented in the form of a method of transformation interior.

This method is included in a daily life, and affirms to bring to a balance of the life spiritual and material.

“We forgot our original residence, from where we are descended to come in this world where we live now. Our attachment with the life and the material values became so extremely that we do not remember any more this original residence. However before being able to turn over to this residence, something must be able to point out this residence to us. How can one go to a place of which one knows nothing? How can one go there if one does not remember it? This is why I say to you that spirituality is the science and the art of the memory. ” Shri RAM Chandraji Maharaj.

Practical

The practice is individual, daily and includes/understands:

a meditation the morning;
a cleaning of the impressions of the day;
a prayer-meditation with sleeping;
a weekly meditation of group;
Of the individual meditations with a tutor;
a direct contact and meditations with the Master;
Of the international seminars.
