SKF

SKF is a Swedish multinational group, world leader in the field of the mechanical Roulement. Its head office is with Gothenburg.

Present in nearly 70 countries, SKF employs close to 40  000 people throughout the world, for a turnover of 45 billion Swedish crowns. (49 billion crowns in 2005, is 5,3 billion euros).

The group since 2006 is organized in three divisions: Industry, Car and Service.

Company SKF was founded in 1907 by engineer Sven Wingquist. Initials SKF mean Svenska KullagerFabriken , in French: manufacture Swedish rolls of the dice.

SKF employs in France approximately 3700 collaborators, out of 10 sites: Montigny (French seat, 2 sites), Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, Fontenay-the-Count, Avallon, Saint-Vallier, Lons-the-Salt maker, Chambéry, Beaufort.

These sites are specialized in various types of products: automobile bearing, aeronautical bearings and products (SARMA), produced linear (screws ball and rollers, jacks electromechanical),…

The Company SNFA with Valencians, which produces bearings of utmost precision for the air transport air, fact part of SKF since July 4th, 2006.
